COVID-19 Protocols for accessing the Campus by Students

The following steps are to be taken by SHU students while accessing the campus:

  • It is mandatory for all students to wear facemask while on-campus. Maintaining a social distance will be mandatory for all students.
  • The students will disinfect their hands with liquid hand sanitizer that will be placed at all floors for the convenience and hygiene of students.
  • The students will go to their classes as per the provided schedule according to social distancing policies.
  • As per Government directives, all social gathering / activities of students are not allowed on-campus.
  • Social distance markings are there for the convenience of students.
  • Teams will keep monitoring the students for strict compliance of SOPs.
  • If any health-related problem is reported, the Medical Officer (Room # D05) will be the first point of contact for all. Student Affairs department will be the second point of contact. The suspected student will be sent to his/her home immediately after taking the consent of parents on phone.
  • Safety Guidelines will be placed at different places for educating the students of COVID-19 protocols.
  • Cafeteria and common room will be marked for social distancing and entrance will be allowed to limited numbers.
  • Any other instruction to be followed by all as announced by the management from time to time.

COVID-19 Transport Protocols for Students and Staff

The following steps are to be taken as transport protocols for SHU students and staff:

  • All passengers and drivers will wear masks before stepping on to the vehicle and keep wearing the same until their arrival to the university.
  • All passengers will sanitize their hands before stepping on to the vehicle. The driver will keep the hand sanitizer and offer each passenger the same upon their arrival.
  • No passenger will be allowed to aboard if he/she is not wearing a face mask.
  • Distancing in seating arrangements to be made by the transporter.
  • Infrared thermometer to be kept by each van driver. The temperature of every passenger to be checked before onboarding.
  • The van driver will refuse the passenger for a pickup if his/her body temperature is high as it could be a threat to other passengers.
  • After arriving outside university premises, the vans will be parked in the designated area and passengers will walk towards the main entrance of the university.
  • Outside the main entrance, there will be 3 checkpoints for checking the body temperature with infrared thermometer. All individuals will line up for getting their temperature checked.
  • There will be markings for each individual for lining up with social distancing.
  • After getting the temperature checked, the individuals will pass through the security check and mark their attendance.
  • If anyone is found with high temperature, he/she will not be allowed to enter the university premises.
  • After crossing the security desk, it will be mandatory for all to pass through the sanitization tunnel.
  • All drivers will line up for their body temperature check at 9:00 AM in front of gate no. 3 through Administration.
  • After dropping off the passengers to the university, all drivers will clean in detail their vehicle from inside out with Dettol or with other cleaners.
  • The transporter will immediately inform the management if any of his driver is sick or have symptoms of COVID-19.
  • At the time of departure, all vans will be lined up and passengers will sanitize their hands before approaching their designated vans.
  • No one will be allowed to be dropped off other than their designated stops. In case of changing the stops, the passengers have to take permission from university administration.
  • In case of any mechanical problem in vehicle, the transporter will arrange for an alternative van keeping in consideration the social distancing policy.
  • Any other instruction to be followed by all as announced by the management from time to time.
