Workshop in Collaboration with Sindh HEC on International Rankings for SDGs

Salim Habib University’s Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), in collaboration with the Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC), successfully hosted a one-day workshop focusing on International Rankings for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Monday, September 30, 2024. The event attracted over 100 participants from both public and private sector universities across Sindh.

The workshop, led by Dr. Abdul Wahid Usmani, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), was highlighted by the presence of prominent figures, including Mr. Moinuddin Siddiqui, Secretary of Sindh HEC, Mr. Saleemuddin, Director of Quality Assurance, Sindh HEC, Prof. Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Vice Chancellor, Salim Habib University, Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, Registrar, Salim Habib University, and Syed Waqar ul Hasan, Director QEC & Regulatory Affairs, Salim Habib University.

Dr. Usmani guided participants from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on how to effectively participate in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 by submitting data in accordance with the relevant SDGs. He shared insights on compiling documentary evidence, ensuring its accurate placement, and addressing other essential aspects to succeed in the global rankings.

The workshop was an invaluable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of international ranking systems, especially in the context of SDG-related activities, and demonstrated SHU's commitment to quality education and global standards.
