SHU is a new university that has been established with the objective of setting new standards of excellence in Pakistan. Our objective is to create a space in higher education that is in synchrony with the environment of the global marketplace which is in the process of transformation and change.

Our approach in the development of curricula has therefore been to be creative and entrepreneurial towards introducing new ideas aimed towards the personal and intellectual development of our students. This is the reason that our curricula is different from the run-of-the-mill programs being offered by the otjer universities in Pakistan, while at the same time remaining within the bounds of the requirements of the HEC model curricula.

Our curricula not only allow the students the opportunity to experience and develop an understanding of the latest technologies, but also exposes them to applied learning through experiential learning, field visits, and workshops from the very beginning of the program.

SHU’s BBA Program has been developed after a comprehensive examination of the curriculum of BBA Programs of top US-based universities, as well as those in Pakistan. Our BBA Program encompasses interactive lectures and challenging academic assignments which enable students to learn and practice skills in leadership, negotiation, innovation, communication, and teamwork - skills vital for today's business managers. This not only requires an understanding of the business operations and business environment, but also the ability to think critically, and to communicate effectively. This is the reason that we have incorporated a number of innovative elements in our curriculum which includes: the allowance for electives not only in the area of business specialization, but also in the area of liberal arts social science, natural science, computer science, and law; incorporation of sports and arts as a part of the curriculum; workshops on personal development and career planning; the provision for trading lab for introducing the students to the valuation and environment of securities and derivatives; use of language lab for teaching of languages and business communication; and the provision of experiential learning courses involving real-world environment.
