The Pharmacon 2.0 - Poster Competition, the first in a series of events organized by PharmDeeS, the departmental society of Salim Habib University's Faculty of Pharmacy, in honour of this year's World Pharmacists Day, took place on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

The second edition of this annual inter-university event included participants from leading universities in Karachi that have Pharmacy programs, including DOW University of Health Sciences, University of Karachi, Hamdard University, Jinnah Sindh University for Women, and Nazeer Hussain University. Participants displayed the posters they had created and impressed the judges with their creativity and innovative ideas.

Judges for the event were the highly respected Dr. Sana Sarfaraz, Assistant Professor Pharmacology, University of Karachi, Dr. Arshad Mahmood, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Biosciences, SHU, and Dr. Affhan Shoaib, Assistant Professor, Department of Biosciences, SHU. Also in attendance was Prof. Dr. Rahela Ikram, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, SHU.

The event also included a First Response Training Workshop on Dealing with Medical Emergencies, conducted by healthcare professionals from the First Response Initiative of Pakistan (FRIP), DOW University of Health Sciences (DUHS).
