Salim Habib University has taken an initiative to establish Business Incubation Centre (BIC) to provide support and resources and to enable new or early-stage businesses to grow and succeed. BICs generally bids a choice of services, such as mentoring, training, networking opportunities, access to funding and capital, office space, and other infrastructure support.
The prime objective of a BIC is to cultivate and develop new business ventures and help them become financially viable and self-sustaining. BICs are sponsored by universities, government agencies, or private organizations and are designed to foster entrepreneurship and innovation.
In addition to providing resources and support, BIC also offers a concentrated environment where businesspersons can share ideas, knowledge, and experiences with other like-minded individuals. This teamwork can help new businesses overcome common challenges, accelerate their growth, and increase their chances of success.
Salim Habib University is in the process of developing a Technology Incubation Centre (SHU-TIC) to provide comprehensive services to help in creating and fostering of potential value-added and technology-based enterprises. In SHU-TIC an incubate will be able to create, finish and commercialize technology from technology-ideas, findings of scientific research and technological development or incomplete technology by means of assistance activities in technical infrastructure, resources and necessary services.
