World Population Day is observed to raise awareness about the importance of managing resources, planning, adoption, gender equality, poverty, maternal health and human rights. More than 7 billion people inhabit the Earth. In just half a century we have doubled our population, and the challenges have grown accordingly.
World’s population will cause additional strains on resources. More people means an increased demand for food, water, housing, energy, healthcare, transportation, and more. And all that consumption contributes to ecological degradation, increased conflicts, and a higher risk of large-scale disasters like pandemics.
We need to take many actions to reduce the population explosion. The government can take measures to aware of the population about the various methods that can help in controlling the population. Also, it should implement some strong campaigns for family planning and birth control.
