International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held on 31st August each year and aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death. Thousands of people die each year from a drug overdose. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have died or had a permanent injury as a result of a drug overdose.
Together, we can raise awareness of the detrimental effects overdoses have on those who suffer from this, as well as the people closest to them. This is a reminder that every life is precious and holds meaning and value.
