Community Connect Summit, a social welfare conference organized by the Salim Habib University CSR Society, Pukaar, was held on Thursday, November 17, 2022.
The conference brought together renowned figures from multiple leading social welfare organizations and corporations, and was attended by representatives from over a 100 NGOs. It featured a Panel Discussion on the Crucial Role of the Development Sector in Pakistan, the panelists for which were Faisal Edhi (TI), son of late Abdul Sattar Edhi and Chairman of Edhi Foundation, M. Rizwan Jaffar, Founder, Youth Parliament Pakistan, Sabina Khatri (Sitara-e-Imtiaz Holder), Founder and Chairperson, Kiran Foundation, Rehan Yaseen, Director, Alamgir Welfare Trust International, Saleem Ibrahim, Director, Society for International Education (SIE), and Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, Director Education & Admissions, Marketing, HR & Administration, Salim Habib University, who represented The Salim Habib Education Foundation (TSHEF). The panel discussion was moderated by Kumail Raza, Executive Outreach & PR, Salim Habib University, and Executive Council Member, Pukaar.
Keynote addresses were given by Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri, General Secretary, Jaffriya Disaster Management Cell (JDC Welfare Organization), and Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah, Chairman, OPEN Karachi, and CEO and MD of Dr. Essa’s Laboratory and Diagnostic Center.
The conference also included success stories and awards, and concluded with a powerful and touching Oath-Taking Ceremony in which Pukaar Office-Bearers pledged to dedicate their lives to the service of humanity.
