Pharmaceutical industry develops new drugs with the help of latest equipments and engineering technology and has become one of the core area of Biomedical Engineering.Therefore, Department of Biomedical Engineering organized an Industrial Visit to Barrett Hodgson Pakistan (BHP), one of the leading pharmaceutical manufacturer of the country. Students were given a warm welcome by the management of BHP. They were asked to put on PPEs in the changing room before entering into the manufacturing facilities. They visited the liquid manufacturing facility and were briefed about the engineering mechanism of hi-tech liquid manufacturing plant. Then, students were briefed about the working principles and instrumentation of the equipments being used in QC department, R&D lab, packaging area and tablet sections. students were learned about the working operations of many heavy equipments and enlightened with various engineering projects ideas for their upcoming semesters. Besides technical knowledge, students were further introduced to the teams of marketing and business development .
The visit to BHP was a great source of information and motivation for the students. they were happy to see such a sophisticated set up and were excited to learn about all the operations they saw. They were very much fascinated and took keen interest in pharmaceutical instrumentation . Students were grateful to the management of BHP for their hospitality and kind words.
