An MoU Signing Ceremony was held on Monday, December 11, 2023, to signify that Salim Habib University has entered into a collaboration with the Pakistan Freelancers' Association (PAFLA) by way of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU Signing Ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Vice Chancellor SHU, Mr. Ibrahim Amin, Chairman PAFLA, Prof. Dr. Kaleem Raza Khan, Registrar SHU, and Mr. Tufail Ahmed Khan, President & CEO PAFLA.
The MoU, which intends to strengthen academia-industry linkages to bring about both the professional development of SHU students and to empower them through providing freelancing opportunities and mentoring and guidance regarding the same, with the ultimate goal of leading them to financial independence, was followed by a Grand Seminar on Freelancing Opportunities conducted by representatives from PAFLA.
Mr. Waqar Siddiqui, Digital Content Creator, was the Keynote Speaker for the Seminar, while addresses were given by Mr. Ali Ahmed Badgewala, Entrepreneur, Digital Marketer, and Graphic Designer, Mr. M. Muzammil Hemani, Partner Tax & Legal, Hemani Associates, and Ms. Aeina P, NLP Trainer, Mindset Coach, and International Speaker & Author.
The Seminar included a Panel Discussion on Payment Issues and Solutions for Freelancers which featured Mr. Fahad Sheikh, Co-Founder PAFLA, Ms. Hina Ilyas, Freelancer, Ms. Hina Farooq Hassan, Freelancer, Mr. Farhan Raheem, Head Remittances, Meezan Bank Ltd., and Mr. Mutahir Ahmed Noor, Head Product Development and Management Unit, Meezan Bank Ltd.
Notably present from Salim Habib Univesity were Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, Executive Director Education, Marketing, HR & Admin, Dr. Shamaila Burney, Head of Career Placement & Industrial Liaison Office and Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, and Ms. Barera Quadri, Lecturer, Department of Business Administration, as well as Management Sciences and Computer Science faculty members.
