The Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science, Salim Habib University, held an Undergraduate Intra-University Poster Competition on Friday, December 15, 2023, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science.

The competition exhibited the incredible research work students of Biosciences, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, and related fields have produced, and awed the judges.

Winners included:

1st Position (Technology Stream) – ‘Heart Disease Prediction Using KNN Classifier’ by Maryiam Ashfaq, Amna Ayaz & Nabiha Rahman, supervised by Prof. Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Khan, Dean, Faculty of Information Technology
1st Position (Biology Stream) – ‘Antioxidants and Antibacterial Potential of Halophytes in Improving Skin Health’ by Ayesha Khan, supervised by Ms. Maleeha Moin Silat, Lecturer, Department of Biosciences, and Dr. Arshad Mahmood, Chairperson, Department of Biosciences

2nd Position (Technology Stream) - 'Eco-Friendly PVA/Bioplastic Composite for Biomedical Applications’ by Maryam Furqan, Zaiba Muhammad & Qandeel Zahra, supervised by Engr. Tooba Khan, Lecturer, Department of Biomedical Engineering

The honourable judges for the competition were Dr. Sheeraz Arif, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science, Dr. Mudassar Azhar, Associate Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Mr. M. Wasim Munir, Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering.
