SHU Students Win Big at Teknofest Pakistan 2024
Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Biosciences, and Pharmacy students from Salim Habib University were selected to showcase their innovative Final Year Projects at Teknofest Pakistan 2024, a major technology and innovation festival that took place from October 12 to 13, 2024, at Expo Center, Karachi, for which Salim Habib University was also a sponsor.
The event, which also included an address by our Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Irfan Hyder, showcased a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, including AI, drones, robotics, and aerospace innovations. It featured competitions, exhibitions, and workshops designed to highlight Pakistan's technological potential, especially through over 300 final year projects from young engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
Our students won great prizes at the event for their projects, including:
- 3rd Prize worth Rs. 75,000 to Biosciences student Aimen Saifullah for her project ‘Optimization of MS Media to Increase Micro Propagation Rate of Banana’
- Top 40 rank and prize worth Rs. 20,000 to the following:
- Pharmacy students Alizay Akram, Sundus Choudhry, Areej Irfan, Nuvaira Amir, Anoosha Ahmed, Alizah Javed, and Sumaiya Irfan for their project Smart-Targeted Drug Delivery Designing PH-Responsive Hydrogel Encapsulated Patch for Improved Management of Peptic Ulcers
- Biomedical Engineering students Syeda Fakhra Jalal, Mirza Areeb Baig, and Zarish Majid Shaikh, for their project Robotic Grasper with Integrated Haptic Feedback Mechanism
- Pharmacy students Rukhsar Tousif, Mahira Irfan, and Bahawal Shar for their project Nutraceuticals Multivitamin Lollipops for Paediatric
- Computer Science students Muhammad Faizan and Abdullah Asif for their project CelebrateMate
