The BSS (BHU Science Society) is arranging an interactive session on the topic “Biology of Memory”, on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 12:00 pm. Prominent guest speaker, Dr. Ather Enam, Chairperson Surgery Department, Aga Khan University, Karachi, will give his insight on the topic.
Dr. Ather Enam, Chair of the Department of Surgery, at the Aga Khan University, was conferred the Sitara-i-Imtiaz – the third highest civilian award by the Government of Pakistan – for his achievements in the field of medicine by President Mamnoon Hussain.
Dr. Enam, whose 24-year long career has seen him work at major hospitals in the United States and Pakistan, is one of three awardees in the field of medicine this year. After completing his PhD from the Northwestern University in 1991, Dr Enam honed his surgical expertise in the US for 12 years before returning to Pakistan in 2003.
Dr. Enam has previously been awarded the Excellence Award in Neurosurgery by the Pakistan Society of Neurosurgery in 2004, the Physician of the Year Medallion Award by St Joseph’s Mercy of Macomb Hospital, USA, in 2002 and the Outstanding Resident Award by Henry Ford Hospital, USA, in 1998. He is a life member of Sigma Xi, a scientific research honor society, as well as founding president of the Pakistan Society of Basic and Applied Neuroscience.
