BHU’s Centre of Learning and Teaching is arranging an interactive session by Professor Dr. Tahir Sultan Shamsi, who is affiliated with National Institute of Blood Diseases & Bone Marrow. He will be enlightening us on the topic of “Success of Organ Transplantation in Pakistan” on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at 11:45 am. Prominent guest speaker, Dr. Tahir Sultan Shamsi, has done a Postgraduate in Life Sciences. Dr. Tahir Sultan Shamsi is a Professor of Haematology and Internal Medicine, and also a Director of Stem Cell Research & Regenerative Medicine. He was among a team of surgeons who carried out for free the first bone marrow transplant at the National Institute of Blood Diseases (NIBD). Our esteemed guest speaker is a Recipient of “President of Pakistan Certificate of Appreciation” Award 2019. He also received ‘Government of Punjab Shield of Accomplishment of BMT Project’ in Lahore, 2019. Professor Dr. Tahir Sultan Shamsi is a Recipient of DOGANA "Life Time Achievement Award" for 2016. Our honorable guest also received a Gold Medal for Excellence in Oncology in 2003. He has done his MBBS from DOW, his MRCPath from UK and FRCPath also from UK. We are grateful to be hosting this CLT session where a presence of such magnanimity will be gracing us with his vast knowledge and achievements and discuss the success of Organ Transplantation in Pakistan.
