In today's edition of the Salim Habib University Career Placement & Industrial Liaison Office's Backpack to Briefcase Series of Alumni Success Stories, we feature Laviza, a Computer Science graduate of the Class of 2022, who is now a Cybersecurity Analyst at British Telecom.

Here's what she has to say about her journey:

“Hi, I'm Laviza, and my success story is as unique as my name.

While many focus on impressive GPAs and balancing part-time jobs with studies, I embrace a deeper aspect – resilience in the face of failure. During my degree at Salim Habib University, I faced the challenge of failing in three courses, but was able to get back up on my feet due to an unwavering belief in my abilities and unending support from my teachers and mentors. I persisted, refusing to give up on my goals.

Despite a dream to study abroad, personal reasons led me to study in Pakistan, and I do not regret it one bit, as SHU played a crucial role in my journey. Now here I am 5 years later, with a Pakistani degree, working for one of the UK’s largest firms. Here at British Telecom, I work with people from all around the world, which has made immense contributions to my growth and learning.

To reach my current position, I dedicated myself wholeheartedly, stayed motivated, and maintained unshakable self-belief. And this my friend, is just the start of my success story."
