Associate Degree in Cosmetic Science (ADP-Cosmetics)

Introduction

The Associate Degree in Cosmetic Science is a two-year, hands-on program blending science, art, and business. It explores cosmetic chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and the societal impact of cosmetics. Designed for those passionate about beauty, it covers formulation, product development, manufacturing, marketing, regulatory compliance, and business fundamentals. This holistic approach equips students with technical skills and fosters understanding of how cosmetics influence self-expression, identity, and self-esteem. It humanizes the science behind beauty, preparing graduates to create innovative products and positively impact society.

About Program

After completion of this program, the qualified associates will be able to:

  • Develop new cosmetic products, formulate and improve existing products, manufacture, market and sell cosmetic products.
  • Source and select various natural or synthetic raw materials for the cosmetic products
  • Select and analyse raw materials and finished products against regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Summarize and communicate ethical, health and environmental concerns to relevant stakeholders.

  • Pre-bachelor students of cosmetic science may find a placement in technical and commercial operations of the relevant industry. This includes positions in quality and supply chain function, business, sales and marketing, product management and stewardship, and many more in the national and multinational companies.
  • Career opportunities also include the areas of cosmetic industry, quality management, perfumery and fragrances, marketing and sales, product management, advertising and media.

  • Higher Secondary Certification (pre-medical with minimum 50%)
  • Bachelors (BS) of other disciplines with Biology/Chemistry/Physiology or any other basic health science course, may also apply (subject to the approval of admission committee).
