Breast Cancer Awareness Day, organized by Salim Habib University’s Faculty of Pharmacy under our Center of Learning and Teaching (CLT), took place on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

The event, held to commemorate Pinktober, aimed to raise awareness of the deadly disease that is breast cancer and to break the stigma surrounding it, and featured talks by Dr. Saima Awan, Breast Surgeon and Consultant General Surgeon, Memon Medical Institute Hospital, and Ms. Maleeha Begum, Oncology Pharmacist, Aga Khan University Hospital.

Other highlights of the event included an address by Dr. Ghazala Ishrat, Chairperson, Department of Pharmaceutics, Salim Habib University, student presentations on research work emphasizing genetic mapping with focus on genes that are vital in the manifestation of breast carcinoma, and a moving tableau performed by our students.
