Biography
Engr. Amna Sheikh is a dedicated Research and Teaching Associate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. She holds a Master of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering from NED University, where she graduated with the highest CGPA in her batch. Her master’s thesis focused on “Machine Learning for Intention Detection Using Seated Movement Kinematics,” where she applied IMU sensors and classification models to identify upper-limb movement intentions in seated individuals, contributing to assistive and rehabilitation technologies.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, completing a final year project titled “Voice Automated Wheelchair Prototype,” which aimed to support mobility for individuals with physical impairments using voice command control.
Engr. Amna has over 2 years of experience at Salim Habib University as a Research and Teaching Associate, where she has significantly contributed to lab conduction and designing, research project supervision, and student-centered learning practices. She also contributes significantly to academic events, outreach activities, and mentorship of young tech enthusiasts.
She was also part of the organizing committee for INMIC 2024 and ICETBEST 2024, contributing to the planning and execution of key sessions and student engagement activities.
Her interests lie in bridging technology and healthcare to build impactful biomedical solutions.
