    Guidelines To E-Terminal Utilization

The Tariq Amin Library is committed to assist researchers, faculty, and students. E-Resources of the library
are available to support researchers and facilitate the fulfilment of academic obligations. Users are required
to comply with and acknowledge the following:
The SHU faculty, students and staff will be given priority to access library resources.
During times of excessive demand of library e-resources and issues with availability, it is requested that users
be perceptive of the needs of others. To cater efficiently to heavy demand, the library may regulate access to
its computers and e-resources through methods such as limiting access to email or restricting the users’ time.
Accessing computer appliances for frivolous activities such as gaming bars others from accessing E-Terminals
for the purpose the equipment is meant for. In order to avert such happenings, the library may intervene
with the intention of advantageous utilization of its resources for research and education objectives. The
usage of proxies and filters to access websites in SHU Tariq Amin Library is a serious offence.
Tariq Amin Library encourages the use of laptops and other personal computing accessories in the library
premises. Users are allowed to connect their personal computing devices only via dedicated portals, and

unplugging any library device is not allowed. The use of personal computing devices, extensions, power
cords, and adaptors should not cause any safety violations.

    Abiding By Intellectual Property Rights

Copying or reproducing any software or intellectual property without privilege is deemed a serious offense.
Software and other university licensed resources attributed to be used by students, faculty and researchers
may be used in accordance with the license obligations.
The copying and unauthorized use of software is a serious offense.
The IDs/NetIDs of the students are their sole responsibility; any misuse of the IDs will lead to them being held
responsible for non-compliance with the Copyright Act.

The SHU Tariq Amin library offers WI-FI access to library members on its premises. The registration entitles
them for accessing the digital library and e-resources via their personal laptops.
