The 26th International Multi Topic Conference 2024 (INMIC 2024), organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Salim Habib University (SHU), in collaboration with the IEEE Karachi Section, was inaugurated at Salim Habib University, Karachi, on December 30, 2024. 

The conference, the first of its kind in Karachi, brought together local and international experts from various fields. It featured technical sessions, including oral presentations, poster displays, and project demonstrations, all showcasing technological and scientific breakthroughs with the potential to reshape the future of science.

Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Shahid Noor, Chairman Saman-e-Shifa Foundation and Head of Orthopedic Surgery at Liaquat National Hospital, addressed the audience at the Inaugural Ceremony, as did Conference Patron and Vice Chancellor SHU Prof. Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Conference Chair and Dean Faculty of Engineering SHU Prof. Dr. M. Zeeshan Ul Haque, and Conference Co-Conveners Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro and Mr. M. Wasim Munir.

One of the highlights of the Ceremony was a thought-provoking Panel Discussion on Digital Transformation in Engineering Education, featuring Prof. Dr. M. Zeeshan Ul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, SHU, Prof. Dr. Fahad Azim, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Science, Technology and Management, Ziauddin University, Karachi, Dr. Sarmad Shams, Associate Professor and Head of Department, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, Dr. Junaid Mir, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, and Engr. Syed Waqad Ali, Senior Lecturer, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. The discussion was moderated by Engr. Hassan Ali, Senior Lecturer, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, SHU.

Notably in attendance from SHU were COO TSHEF Mr. Muhammad Abbas, Registrar and Conference Secretary Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, Program Secretary Engr. Muhammad Shaheer Mirza, Organizing Committee Chair Engr. Tooba Khan, and Technical Program Committee Chair Dr. Irfan Ahmad Usmani, as well as Biomedical Engineering faculty, staff, and students, and members of the organizing team.

The ceremony was also attended by Vice Chancellors of leading Pakistani universities, renowned researchers and scientists, and esteemed guests from both academia and industry.
