The 26th International Multi-Topic Conference 2024 (INMIC 2024), organized by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Salim Habib University (SHU), in collaboration with the IEEE Karachi Section, took place from December 30 to 31, 2024, at Salim Habib University, Karachi. This groundbreaking event, the first of its kind to be held in Karachi, brought together national and international experts in the field of Biomedical Engineering and related domains.

The conference featured a diverse array of technical sessions, oral presentations, poster presentations, project demonstrations, and thought-provoking discussions. These, conducted by experts from Pakistan as well as across the world, including the UK, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Turkey, Malaysia, Jordan, Denmark, Ireland, Germany, Peru, Canada, Thailand, Kuwait, Indonesia, China, and the UAE, highlighted cutting-edge technological and scientific breakthroughs with the potential to reshape the future of science and technology.

The Closing Ceremony, held on December 31, featured addresses from esteemed Guests of Honour Engr. Sohail Bashir, Chairman, Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP), Mr. Rehan Allahwala, Founder of the Institute of Peace, Insan Party, and Rehan School, and Mr. Kazim Raza Qazi, CEO, KoderLabs. Also addressing the attendees were Conference Patron and Vice Chancellor SHU Prof. Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Registrar SHU and Conference Secretary Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, and Program Secretary Engr. Muhammad Shaheer Mirza.

Throughout the two-day event, the conference was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellors from leading Pakistani universities, renowned researchers, and distinguished guests from academia and industry. Notably in attendance were COO TSHEF Mr. Muhammad Abbas, Conference Chair and Dean Faculty of Engineering SHU Prof. Dr. Zeeshan Ul Haque, Conference Co-Chair Mr. M. Wasim Munir and Organizing Committee Chair Engr. Tooba Khan, and Technical Program Committee Chair Dr. Irfan Ahmad Usmani, as well as Biomedical Engineering faculty, staff, and students, and members of the organizing team.

INMIC 2024 highlighted Salim Habib University’s commitment, in pursuit of our Honourable Chancellor Dr. Iram Afaq’s vision, to fostering innovation, collaboration, and academic excellence while creating a platform for global experts to address critical challenges and opportunities in science and technology.
