1st International Conference on Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICPPS-25) - Day 01

Day 1 of the 1st International Conference on Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICPPS-25), organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Salim Habib University (SHU), took place at the Dr. Iram Auditorium, Fatima Business School (FBS), SHU, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in realization of the vision of the University’s Honorable Chancellor Dr. Iram Afaq and her mission of revolutionizing education and healthcare for the better through innovation, global collaboration, and groundbreaking research in the pharmaceutical sciences.

The day began with a grand Inauguration Ceremony, which officially marked the opening of the conference. Chief Guest Dr. Obaid Ali, Lead, DRAP, Strategic Office of Science & Technology, was warmly welcomed by Conference Patron and Vice Chancellor SHU, Prof. Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Registrar, Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Noor Kamil, and members from the Faculty of Pharmacy, SHU. Dr. Obaid Ali addressed the audience in an inspiring talk during the Inaugural Ceremony, while Registrar and Executive Advisor of the Conference Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib delivered the Welcome Address.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. Kaiser Waheed, CEO, Medisure Laboratories, also delivered encouraging remarks to the audience. The event also featured thought-provoking scientific keynote sessions by renowned industry experts and academicians, namely Prof. Dr. Zaheer Uddin Babar, Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Practice, College of Pharmacy, Qatar University & Chief Editor, Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice, Mr. Anjum Shafi, Advisor, Health Canada, and Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ziauddin University.

The main highlight of ICPPS-25 Day 1 was an enlightening and nuanced Panel Discussion on Translating Ideas into Impact: Overcoming the Academia-Pharma Divide with pharma leaders onboard, including Dr. Obaid Ali, Dr. Kaiser Waheed, Mr. Abdul Rasheed Chauhan, CEO, Hoora Pharma, Dr. Ghais Ahmed, Director Sales & Marketing, Medisure Laboratories, Dr. Faseeh, Senior Manager Production, Pinnacle Biotech (Pvt.) Ltd., Mr. Zia Ul Haq, Director Plant Operation, Galaxy Pharma, and Mr. Muhammad Arsalan, Deputy General Manager Quality Control, Pinnacle Biotech (Pvt.) Ltd. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Irfan Hyder.

Day 1 of the conference also featured oral presentations, research paper presentations, poster presentations, project displays, and informative scientific sessions, all of which showcased breakthroughs with the potential to reshape the future of pharmaceutics and pharmacy practice.

Notably in attendance were the Vice Chancellors of leading Pakistani universities, renowned researchers, esteemed guests from both academia and industry, as well as the Deans, Directors, and Heads of Salim Habib University, along with its pharmacy faculty and students.
