Ashura

Today is the 10th of Muharram, a day of mourning in the history of Islam. On this day in 680 AD, more than 1300 years ago, the Battle of Karbala was fought, and resulted in the tragic martyrdom of Hazrat Hussain (R.A.), who was the son of Hazrat Ali (R.A.) and the grandson of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.).This day, also known as the day of Ashura, is of immense significance to Muslims all over the world.
