United Nations Public Service Day is held to acknowledge the contribution of public service in the development of nations, and to motivate the youth to work in the public sector.A career in public services isn’t seen as either promising or glamorous, but it is essential, and so the UN Public Service Day honours public servants and encourages more people to join the public sector and to work for the community. Recently, the theme of the day has also begun to incorporate the use of technology in the betterment of public service.
