Guiding the Next Generation: Career Counselling at SHU

The ACM SHU Student Chapter, in collaboration with Ponder Alliance, proudly organized an interactive Career Counselling Session at Salim Habib University. This initiative was aimed at guiding final-year Computer Science students as they prepare to step into the professional world. The session featured one-on-one guidance from seasoned tech professionals who brought a wealth of industry experience and insights. The distinguished panel included: Mr. Muhammad Hassaan Khan – Senior Project Manager, Folio 3 - Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Ahmed Qaisar – AVP - Digital Transformation, JS Bank & President, Agile Pakistan - Karachi Chapter Mr. Maaz Shaikh – Technical Team Lead, Contour Software Ms. Erum Hannan – Software Development Manager, Techlogix Mr. Muhammad Abid Munif Khan – Senior Project Manager, Tectonic Throughout the session, students explored various career pathways, learned about emerging roles in the tech industry, and gained clarity on the most in-demand technical and soft skills. Participants also received personalized feedback on: Resume optimization Portfolio building Interview preparation techniques tailored for tech positions The event proved to be a valuable platform for students to gain practical advice, industry perspectives, and actionable steps to enhance their employability.
