Biography
Prof. Dr. M. Zeeshan Ul Haque is a highly proficient and dedicated academic leader with over 21 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration, including more than 6 years as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. He has been working as a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, since October 2018, at Salim Habib University, Karachi. Recently, he has been working on a funded international Erasmus+ capacity-building grant for curriculum development in biomedical engineering based on Industry 4.0/5.0. He also worked as the acting chairman of the biomedical engineering department at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. Dr. Zeeshan received his PhD from the University of Auckland, his Master’s from Queen Mary University of London, and his undergraduate degree from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, respectively. He is an experienced Biomedical Engineering program expert from different national institutions, i.e., the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and the Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee of Sindh HEC (CIEC-SHEC). He has published numerous research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He holds fellowships and memberships in various professional bodies such as PEC, IEP, IEEE, IEEEP, IEANG, etc. He is providing his academic and professional services as a member of various statutory bodies and project evaluation committees, peer review conferences, and journal reviewers, external examiners, etc., on national as well as international levels. He also served as a co-convener of the Higher Education Commission Pakistan National Curriculum Review Committee 2017 for the biomedical engineering curriculum. He is experienced in academic-industrial collaboration with the health care industry and organizing international conferences. Dr. Zeeshan’s areas of research interest include biomedical instrumentation, physiological modeling and simulation, bio-signal processing, biomaterials, AI in healthcare and e-health and telemedicine.
