On Monday, January 5, 2026, Mr. Muhammad Shahzad Aslam, Assistant Professor, Xiamen University, Malaysia, visited Salim Habib University to discuss practical joint research collaboration between the two institutions. The discussion focused on three core research areas, i.e., Clinical Epidemiological Data on Malnutrition, Development of a Pharmacognosy and Natural Product Research Pipeline, and Exploration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Prescription Patterns Related to Nutrition-Associated Syndromes for Hypothesis Generation.

During the meeting, initial steps to advance collaboration, including the identification of shared datasets, alignment on data governance and ethical frameworks, and consideration of both retrospective and prospective study designs to support future joint research activities, were also discussed.
