World Bee Day

Happy World Bee Day!We may not be – or shall we say bee – aware of this but bees play a very important role in our ecosystem. They are pollinators and help to bring about the fertilization, and thus production and growth, of agricultural produce. They also improve the quality of plants through pollination and increase their resistance to pests. One third of the world’s food production depends on bees! Furthermore, they provide honey and beeswax, both of which are essential to us.Without bees, our ecosystem would suffer severely, which is alarming since bees have become endangered.Work needs to be done to create awareness as to the importance of bees and of saving them, which is why we observe World Bee Day.Save the bees!
