World Hepatitis Day

World Hepatitis Day is observed every year on July 28, which is also the birth anniversary of Dr. Baruch Samuel Blumberg, who discovered the hepatitis B virus in 1967 and also made the first vaccine for the same, in 1969.This day is held because millions of people are suffering from the viral hepatitis disease and it is necessary to raise awareness of this fact so that more people become mindful of it, in order to reduce the spread of this life-threatening disease.Let us come together to fight against hepatitis, to educate more people about the causes and consequences of this disease, and to pledge to not surrender to it. Today, we stand with those who are suffering from hepatitis to let them know that they are not all alone in this fight.
