Salim Habib University (SHU) is a not-for-profit institution of higher learning committed to providing quality university education to the youth, no matter what their financial constraints.

Established through a charter granted by the Provincial Assembly, Sindh, in 2015, Salim Habib University is supported by The Salim Habib Education Foundation (TSHEF), a not-for-profit organization that focuses on providing students with safe and easy access to international-standard educational and healthcare facilities.

The University spans over six acres of lush landscaping. It boasts ultra-modern infrastructure featuring a five-story academic block with thirty-three state-of-the-art labs, a uniquely-built four-floor library, and world-class sports facilities.

With a commitment to creating changemakers equipped to impact global industry, economy, and society, Salim Habib University on ensuring that its graduates emerge as well-rounded, competent individuals who harbor the passion to engage in continual learning and have the ability to lead future generations to prosperity.

Fatima Business School

Our Fatima Business School (FBS) is a transformative learning ecosystem where business, technology, engineering, psychology, health, social sciences, and other emerging disciplines converge. Built to address the demands of today’s rapidly evolving industries, FBS focuses on real-world challenges and equips international students to lead in dynamic business environments shaped by groundbreaking technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and nanotechnology.

Counselling for International Students

In order to facilitate our students and to help them cope with any challenges they face, we have on-board a specialized clinical psychologist, who provides the following services:

Counselling services to facilitate the well-being of students
Case-specific counselling session(s), rendered on a needs-only basis, and conducted in a highly confidential environment
Receival of complaints from students who believe themselves to be victims of harassment of any kind and the provision of subsequent counselling session(s)
Training sessions and workshops to instill, upscale, and strengthen soft skills in students
Any specific counselling recommended for a student by his/her department

Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT)

The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) aims to equip the faculty and overseas students with the best practices prevalent in academic and professional circles through regular interaction with prominent members of the industry and academia. The Centre is meant to foster academic excellence and develop opportunities through scholarly interaction and the promotion of a culture of collaboration between the University and national as well as international academia. For this purpose, it organizes guest speaker sessions, seminars and conferences, ranging from departmental assemblies to university-wide events.

State-of-the-Art Laboratories

SHU has a diverse set-up of laboratories, designed to provide hands-on learning for every discipline of study offered at the University. There are total 33 labs and are labelled as ICT Labs, Engineering Labs, Wet Labs, and Dry Labs. Each lab is fully-equipped with the latest technologies and is well-maintained, regularly updated, and readily accessible to students to enjoy the best learning and practical experience.

Facilities

Accommodation

We offer state-of-the-art, affordable accommodation for international students. The University has proper accommodation facilities for both male and female students coming from anywhere to study at the campus. The dormitory’s management makes incredible efforts in providing the students with a clean, hygienic, and hospitable environment. Also, student’s security is the utmost priority of the University and for this purpose guarded professional security personnel’s, with the entrance and exit points under 24/7 CCTV surveillance, ensuring a safe and secure environment for the residents.

The University actively promotes and instill discipline towards all the fellow international residents and urged them to adhere to the rules and regulations and maintain a decorum. However, if the rules are violated so, students shall be held accountable and strict action would be taken.

Library

Salim Habib University (SHU) ‘s library is more than just a resource center—it’s a gateway to global academic excellence. The University offers international students a dynamic academic environment, anchored by a modern, purpose-built library that features a collection of over 15,000 physical books. This primarily includes core academic texts along with 25,000 digital volumes and an extensive selection of globally recognized journals with high impact factors.

The library is fully managed through a digital system enabling students to easily search the catalog, check availability, and reserve materials online, ensuring round-the-clock access to knowledge from anywhere in the world.

Sports Complex

SHU aims to meet students’ needs and aspirations regarding all aspects of university life, of which sports is a crucial element. For this reason, and in keeping with its philosophy of providing a stimulating campus life, the University has allocated an immense amount of resources to build international standard sports facilities for the student body.

These amenities, in the form of the Fatima Sports Complex, facilitate athleticism and provide students with a wide range of sporting activities on campus, giving them a lot of enjoyable options if they are looking for something fun to do between classes or planning a little escape from the strenuous schedule of academic work. We believe these facilities will provide wholesome and fulfilling experiences to our global students, and play a critical role in helping them discover themselves, play to their strengths, identify and overcome their weaknesses, and learn the fine science of team dynamics.

Cafeteria

Salim Habib University (SHU) strongly emphasizes student health and comfort, which is clearly reflected in its large, modern cafeteria. With seating for up to 300 students and to make students from all cultural backgrounds feel at home, the cafeteria features a diverse menu that includes vegetarian, halal, and international food options, ensuring everyone finds something that suits their taste buds. The air-conditioned indoor space offers a relaxing atmosphere for dining, socializing, or taking breaks between classes. For those who enjoy dining outdoors, a beautifully landscaped open-air seating area is also available, ideal for enjoying Karachi’s weather
