The Salim Habib University Open House was held on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Thousands of aspiring students visited our campus on the day of the Open House, with the aim of experiencing our world-class facilities, exploring the market-competitive programs and dynamic career opportunities we offer, and witnessing the SHU way of life.
The Open House included not only campus tours, career counselling booths, and departmental briefings, but also a Project Exhibition, fun activities such as karaoke, lots of food options, and a Panel Discussion with our own highly-qualified Faculty members as panelists. The Panel Discussion, titled Navigating the Future: Emerging Career Tracks and Fields, featured Dr. Shamaila Burney, Assistant Professor Business Administration and Head, Career Placement & Industrial Liaison Office, Dr. Samita Bai, Assistant Professor Computer Science, Engr. Hassan Ali, Lecturer Biomedical Engineering, Mr. Salman Qayyum Galani, Lecturer Accounting & Finance, Ms. Hajira Karim, Lecturer Biosciences, and Ms. Rabia Noor, Lecturer Pharmacy. Mr. Kumail Raza, Executive Outreach & PR, moderated the captivating session.
We also held an Awards Ceremony by the name of Shining Stars Awards on the same day, to recognize and award high-achieving college and intermediate level students all over Karachi for academic excellence as well as their extraordinary talents and achievements in extra-curricular activities.
Prof. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Vice Chancellor SHU, delivered the Welcome Address at the event, while the Vote of Thanks was given by Mr. Kumail Raza, Executive Outreach & PR.
Notably present were Registrar Prof. Dr. Kaleem Raza Khan, Executive Director Education, Marketing, HR & Admin, Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, and SHU management, faculty, and staff. Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi, President of the Pakistan Society for Microbiology (PSM), also graced the event with her presence.
