World Leprosy Day is held to bring to people’s knowledge the terrible disease that is leprosy, to educate them about it, and to raise support for those who have suffered or suffer from it.This day aims to highlight the fact that early detection of leprosy is the key to saving lives, to reduce transmission of this disease and thus to eventually eliminate it.
