Introduction
Ph.D Islamic Civilisation provides an advanced platform for scholars to investigate the historical development and global contributions of Islamic Civilisation while critically engaging with modernity, globalization, science and technology, governance, social justice, peacebuilding, interfaith relations, media, and the changing realities of Muslim societies. Doctoral researchers will examine Islamic Civilisation not only as a historical legacy but also as a living intellectual and ethical resource for addressing contemporary national and global questions.
About Program
Program Objectives
On completion of the degree, graduates will possess:
- prepare graduates for leadership roles in academia, research institutions, policy forums, heritage organizations, publishing, media, and postdoctoral research.
- Develop scholars with deep knowledge of the Qur’an, Sunnah, and foundational sources of Islamic thought.
- Promote a dynamic vision of life grounded in Islamic knowledge, research, innovation, and ethical values.
- Equip scholars with contemporary methods of Da’wah, communication, and community engagement.
- Develop critical understanding of contemporary ideologies, philosophies, and global intellectual challenges.
- Enable students to analyses social issues through Islamic sources and propose practical solutions for human welfare.
- Prepare competent professionals for roles in research, teaching, legislation, management, policy, Islamic finance, and modern business settings. Nurture responsible Muslim scholars and citizens capable of contributing positively at national and international levels.
Eligibility Criteria
- A minimum of 3.0 out of 4.0 CGPA or 60% (in the annual system) in MS/M.Phil. or an equivalent degree in a relevant field from an HEC-recognized university
- GRE/HAT or equivalent university test (as per HEC policy) with at least 60% score.
- Admission committee’s satisfaction on the research statement of purpose
