Breast Cancer Awareness Session in collaboration with Searle Company Limited

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Salim Habib University, in collaboration with Searle Company Limited, organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Session on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Auditorium A. The session aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection, recognizing signs and symptoms, and seeking timely medical consultation. Dr. Momal representative from Kiran Hospital, delivered an insightful address, highlighting the clinical signs and symptoms of breast cancer and the importance of early diagnosis.

A key highlight of the event was a thought-provoking panel discussion, which underscored the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, patient education, and collaborative efforts in the fight against breast cancer. The panelists included Dr. Raja Rahool, Consultant Medical Oncologist, Dr. Ruth K. M. Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, Dr. Hannah Tariq, Deputy Director, Al-Kausar University, Dr. Shamaila Burney, Liaquat National Hospital, and Dr. Ghazal Bukhari, Senior Lead, Medical Affairs Department, Searle Company Limited. The thoughtful moderation of Dr. Ali Asgher Shuja, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Pharmacy, SHU, further added depth to the topic.

The event also featured a skit presented by students, followed by an interactive Q/A session that encouraged audience participation. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, reaffirming the collective commitment to breast cancer awareness and advocacy.
