Equal - A Celebration of Women Empowerment

Equal – A Celebration of Women Empowerment, organized by Salim Habib University’s Student Affairs Department and Marketing and Media Society, was held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, to honour women’s profound contributions and achievements across personal and professional spheres.

A key highlight of the event was an engaging panel discussion titled Celebrate Her: Voices on Empowerment and Breaking Barriers which featured distinguished professionals, namely Dr. Sadaf Hafeez Chohan, Associate Professor, Head, Psychology Program, Salim Habib University & CEO, Mindful Healing Clinic, Dr. Nabila Abbas, Clinical Psychologist, Fazaia Intermediate College, and Ms. Syeda Fareha Mahmood, Motivational Speaker, Soft Skills & Personality Development Trainer, who shared their valuable perspectives on women empowerment, equality, and resilience. The session was moderated by Mr. Salman Galani, Program Manager & Lecturer, Department of Accounting & Finance, Faculty of Management Sciences, Salim Habib University, whose thoughtful moderation added depth and insight to the discussion.

Another key highlight of the event was a Training Session on Empowering Women with Self-Defense Skills, led by Prof. Dr. Jamshed Butt, Founder & President, Academy of Martial Arts (AMA) and Director, Center for AI Digital Arts & Creative Design and Center for Sports & Fitness, Salim Habib University. The session empowered women with essential self-defense skills, enabling them to recognize common threat scenarios and stay calm under pressure.

The event also featured a theatrical performance by SHU students, portraying women’s strength, struggles, and resilience in society. Attendees enjoyed the theatrical performance and appreciated the powerful message and captivating performances by the students.
