As renewable energy sources like solar and wind decentralize the generation and distribution of power, the inefficiencies of traditional Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and Generation Companies (GENCOs) have been exposed, leading to increased cost issues, public pressures and protests, and other problems. The Energy Policy Working Group of the SHU CPRS aims to address these challenges by providing solutions that reduce the dependency on centralized, large-scale power producers and support a more sustainable energy future.
