    Biography

    Mehak Jawed is a Lecturer of English at Salim Habib University, Karachi, and a PhD scholar in English Linguistics at Hamdard University. Her academic and research work is situated in Applied Linguistics, with a particular focus on Critical Discourse Analysis, English Medium Instruction, media discourse, and language ideologies in educational contexts. Her recent research employs corpus-assisted discourse analysis to examine media and policy discourses in Pakistan. She has published in national and international journals and has presented her research at international conferences. Her book chapter on English language policy and socio-economic mobility has been published in an edited volume by Wiley.

    Teaching Experience

    Mehak Jawed has extensive teaching experience in higher education and has taught a range of undergraduate courses including Functional English, Academic Writing, Communication Skills, Technical Report Writing, and Media Discourse Analysis. Her teaching focuses on academic writing development, critical reading, and communication skills, with particular emphasis on argumentation, research writing, and discourse analysis. She adopts student-centered and activity-based teaching methods and has experience in curriculum development, assessment design, and course coordination at university level.
