International Day of Peace

September 21 is marked as the International Day of Peace, and calls for the world to end racism, inequality, discrimination, and violence in the hopes of establishing global peace. The UN has declared that this International Day of Peace will be observed by calling for an end to all violence and a cease-fire to all ongoing battles for twenty-four hours. However, in order to truly build peace, it is individual mindsets that need to be worked on. If we are able to build communities based on love, kindness, tolerance, and equality, it will be easy to wipe out hatred and violence and to replace it with peace instead. Let’s hope and pray that soon we are able to live in such a world!
