International Day of Sign Languages

Sign languages are languages used all over the world by the deaf to communicate. The International Day of Sign Languages highlights the need for global communities, including both the deaf and the hearing, to support and protect the cultural identity of those hard of hearing by learning how to sign and thus building a more inclusive world. This day is a part of the International Week of the Deaf, which is held in the last week of September every year.
