World Day against Trafficking in Persons

Currently, human trafficking is the second-largest and fastest-growing criminal in the world. This day is dedicated to our acknowledgment of human trafficking globally and our support of its victims and first responders. But our acknowledgment of this atrocity must continue beyond a single day. Every day, human beings are trafficked all over the world. The problem will not end unless everyone knows it’s there in the first place. Raising awareness of the issue on a local, regional, and national level is the first step toward ending the trafficking of men, women, and children.Prevent human trafficking through public awareness, outreach, education, and advocacy campaigns. Protect and assist victims by providing shelters as well as health, psychological, legal, and vocational services.
