Today, the 16th of September, is the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. The ozone layer is a shield made up of gas that surrounds the Earth and protects it from the harmful rays of the sun. Unfortunately, our excessive use of toxic chemicals such as aerosols and pollution caused by our unsustainable ways of living have harmed the ozone to such an extent that there are now holes in it, which have led to the global raise in temperatures and other effects of global warming that we are now experiencing.Steps need to be taken to reduce pollution and the use of aerosols in order to preserve the ozone layer, because it is what preserves life on earth.
